Out of the Box with Mr. Knits: Ch-Ch-Changes

Any viable business adapts to evolving conditions, and to discoveries of what works and what doesn’t. Most of the changes this month fall into the latter category (the current tariffs haven’t hit us, at least not yet). Most of the changes are behind the scenes, so it’s mostly Mr. & Mrs. Knits who will have to turn and face the strange. If you just want to hear about yarn, and not the nuts and bolts, now is a good time to go back to shopping. 😊

One big change is completely abandoning our brick & mortar presence. This should not surprise anyone following us before. Between our disabilities, and the economic environment, a physical shop is completely unrealistic. The only practical change you will notice is a different return address on packages in the next few weeks. We still plan on offering a local pickup option here in Bremerton, WA. Also, we are studying options for opening now and then as a pop-up around the area.

Another change will be our phone provider. We expect the phone number will remain the same. You may notice delays in our response time, or even a short outage where the phone is not working. That transition should also be complete by the end of May. This should also restore our ability to send text messages. A recent change in SMS rules requires text campaign registration, even if we just want to reply to your quick question. This is intended to curb the rampant unsolicited text messages, which is badly needed, but campaign registration has proven extremely difficult (at least with our current provider). So the current rules amount to making all businesses guilty until proven innocent. If you texted us and didn’t receive a response, it’s because we can’t.

We were overdue for a Privacy Policy as well as a Terms & Conditions page. To sum up the Privacy Policy, we don’t send anything to you unless you ask us to do so. To sum up the Terms & Conditions, don’t do anything bad on our website, and we’ll return the courtesy to you.

This is not a service reduction, it’s just us working smarter instead of harder. In fact, without the burden of trying to be a brick & mortar store, we have more freedom to explore other service options more suited to our capabilities.

And now back to your Happy Knitting and Crocheting! 😊🧶
