KFI Kits: Noro Akaroa Scarf with Noro Haunui Silk yarn

Each Kit comes with the following:

• 3 Jumbo Hanks of Noro Haunui Silk yarn (1 of each color specified)

• 1 copy of the knitting pattern

• 1 brown Kraft paper bag

Mrs. Knits adores this beautiful fiber, Haunui Silk. The story is that Noro commissioned a special sheep for the "Haunui" Collection. The first was Haunui Wool in 2022. Next, in 2023, he blended it with silk to create the Haunui Silk Yarn here. It's by the skein, or you can purchase a scarf kit on our website (coming soon). The sample piece is not included here but illustrates the knitted scarf Mrs. Knits re-constructed. 

Haunui Silk, (pronounced Hoo-noo-ee and translated as “place of the winds”) is a natural blend of raw mulberry silk and unique mixed-breed Haunui merino wool from the Taranui farm in New Zealand. This yarn has a slight thick and thin quality to the single ply. True wool lovers will cherish this limited-quality, slightly rustic, un-dyed yarn. No two sheep are exactly the same color, but their fleece fall into color categories, and are blended to create rich shades of oatmeal, brown, gray, and black. User friendly heavy worsted-weight gauge. Great for hard wearing (outerwear) garments with a touch of luxury.
