What’s on our Needles?

Mrs. Knits enjoying her knitting and a coffee on the Washington State Ferry.

Fall is here and Mrs. Knits is refreshed from a long vacation break. During the break Mr. Knits organized the warehouse and ran our annual clearance sale. We still have an ever evoloving set of clearance items in our DeStash Bin which incudes a selection of last year’s Noro Yarn. Plus Lantern Moon Needles and an assortment of accessories.

Mrs. Knits worked on knitting up test sample yarns in a pattern she created (simple scarf ideas) to be not only efficent but to enjoy effortless dabbling with different fibers and colors. Of course one of her favorite places to knit is on the ferry. Heard a rumor that some crafters will do a KIP (knitting in public) onboard. Especially on route to the sports arena. Mr. Knits is an avid sports fan.

For Fall 2025 we are expanding our Jody Long Collection.

Per His Website about his design philosophy:

“ Jody is also a top selling author with over ten knitting titles to his name. He has been designing for yarn mills around the globe and celebrities. He has a real wealth of knitting knowledge that really comes to light in his designs. Jody is a senior knitwear designer for Knitting Fever & in cooperation with Knitting Fever, has launched the brand Jody Long Yarns.”

As Mrs. Knits sees it, “There is a correlation with Noro’s semi-solid yarns and the palatte of Long’s own spin off. There are lots of newer Noro offering such as Sonata, Madara and Malvinas which coordinate and contrast together as solids-semi solids which reflect this vision. We are suprised and delighted to share these gorgeous yarns.

While we prepare to receive and roll out new Noro we have just added new Long.

Included are new colors of Ciao and Ciao Carnival favorites. We are also carrying the Andeamo Collection. We started with the Super Bulky version last year. This year we are excited to introduce the newer weights such as Light and Light Twist versions. Not to mention the fabulous recent version Super Bulky Twist. Mrs. Knits created a riff (meaning changing the pattern design) on the Harper Scarf Long designed.

She did a 6 x 6 (6 row and 6 stich repeat) cable knit with Ciao Color #24 Bubblegum. Next she is working on another design with K5 P2 ribbing. (This is a stitch where you purl 5 stitches and knit 2 sitches on the right side and reverse that on the right side). Truly a relaxing and uncomplicated design. It’s on Ciao Carnival #1002 Viareggio (Blue Purple and a hint of Yellow-Green).

Whether you do simple designs or complicated ones Mrs. Knits has the perfect yarns for your project…

Happy Knitting!

Mrs. and Mr. Knits
